Anybot - robots in the classroom

Description: Anybots is a virtual presence company based in the USA. Anybots, Inc. offers one of the most interactive forms of communication available today by providing the user with a personal remote avatar that can be controlled through a simple browser-based interface, with intuitive controls allowing for a truly immersive experience. With Anybots the user can instantly be immersed in a distant environment experiencing the forefront of a new class of communication called mobile telepresence. Researchers in Lyon want to use mobile robots in classrooms that can be controlled by children with medical needs. This allows the children to watch their classmates and join in with collaborative work and can also communicate with them. The student can have lessons whenever possible without having to leave home or the hospital. This would be a wonderful service for a disabled student who needs very intensive and one-to-one training or when they need to engage with a teacher who particularly understands their illness.
